This exceptional strain originates from the Balkh region in northern Afghanistan, near the legendary city of Mazar-i-Sharif. There, in the historic heart of the Central Asian hashish culture, farmers have been cultivating cannabis plants for centuries to produce the famous “Shirak-i-Mazar” – one of the most traditional and high-quality charas in the world.

The genetics of this line are based on an authentic landrace that was sourced directly from Peshawar via The Real Seed Company in 2007. The original plants were selected for their resin production – typical of the local tradition of sieved charas.

Our Mazar-i-Sharif P5 is the result of careful further breeding since 2009. The starting point was a fruity selection with strawberry aroma, this was propagated twice outdoors, in the second propagation the P2 pollen was crossed back to the selected mother with strawberry aroma.

The subsequent generations (P4 and P5) were selected and produced indoors by open pollination, resulting in a robust line with a high resin yield, impressive vigor and a wide aromatic diversity.
