Ultra Early Sativa (UELsativa x UELsativa x UELbrother)

Ultra Early Love (UEL) is an exceptional outdoor cannabis strain with characteristics that are often lacking in other strains. First and foremost is its intense smell, which remains even after the flowers have dried. The plant is also remarkably beautiful and produces compact, resilient buds. Its effect lasts a long time and, due to its high sensitivity to light, it is usually ready to harvest at the end of September to the beginning of October when grown at 52 degrees latitude (52N). In 2016, this plant was shared with me for further propagation, which was the beginning of an intensive relationship. The Colombian origin of the plant was particularly appealing to me, as I was looking for an ideal outdoor sativa and hoped to have found the “holy grail” in the UEL. Despite its excellent cultivation properties, however, I found that although the high starts out sativa-like, it quickly turns into a more introspective state. I have been growing UEL every year since 2016 and discovered a particularly thin-leafed specimen in 2018. I grew clones of it as it not only had thin leaves, but also grew faster than other plants. I named this specimen UELsativa. Despite its qualities, the relationship with it was not easy. It can be stubborn and doesn’t flower well if its roots don’t have enough space. To preserve it, I often had to clone it and regenerate it outdoors. The main reason for my trouble was the particular Colombian High type, which I could recognize by the thin leaves. Compared to other UELs, it offers a much better smoking experience. Those who smoke mostly indica or hybrids will find the experience a typical “sativa high”. For me personally, the high remains pleasant, but the reverberation is a little too intense. That’s why I prefer crosses with her. My aim was to capture its special characteristics in seed form. After two years of self-breeding, I have developed a stable line and also produced male/female seeds. This season I selected several males and had my best plants pollinated. The S1 line still shows some variation, but overall I am well on my way to stabilizing the special effect of the mother plant. I finally replaced it with a selected clone from its own seeds and currently call it UES “B11”. Now I am ready to share this strain with the world. To differentiate it from the introspective UEL phenotypes, I have changed its name to Ultra Early Sativa, but without losing the connection to its origin.
